🎬 Celebrated on…wait for it…May the 4th
Kids love dressing up in Star Wars costumes and May the 4th is the perfect day for celebrating Star Wars! May 4th is now recognized as Star Wars Day, an unofficial holiday. 🤓
The idea of creating the May the 4th holiday sprung from a line in the first Star Wars movie by George Lucas. The line was in “Star Wars: A New Hope.” In the film General Dodonna inspires the rebel fighters before they begin a mission against the Death Star by saying, “…May the FORCE be with you!”. Notice how, “May the force”, rhymes with, “May the 4th”? It therefore only made sense to choose May the 4th as Star Wars Day. ▶️
Today Star Wars Day, May the 4th, is celebrated all around the world by Star Wars film universe fans. It is marked with festivities, parades and viewing parties. Disney, who now owns the Star Wars franchise, also recognizes the day, and often commemorates the day with special activity. 👨🚀
